Have you ever rented a car and fallen in love with it? Have you ever taken a car on test drive and didn’t want to give it back? Well join my club #TeamMazda6 because that’s exactly what happened to me when I borrowed the Mazda 6 for a week from Drive Shop USA.
My good friend and fellow blogger boo Toya were invited to our friend’s wedding in Detroit. We were super excited and ready to take the city by storm. But somehow life got in the way and we were only able to make a day trip instead of a full on girls weekend.
Anywho, our day started at dark thirty on Sunday morning. We loaded the car with our clothes for the wedding and headed out for a 4 hour drive.
Who knew the trunk was big enough to fit all our girly stuff and then some inside? The ride was smoother than I expected and the gas mileage was pretty good too. Although the drive was 4 hours, the time seemed to fly by listening to all the music stations on the XM Radio. We sang, we laughed and we drove.
As we entered the mid point in Indiana, we realized the time difference that we forgot about. OMG…we both yelled, “we’re going to be late.”
Late was not an option because we still had to get dressed and freshen up. To avoid being tardy for the party, I may or may not have given a gas pedal a little extra tap of the toe.
I wasn’t worried because the Mazda 6 has some great safety features. If you veer off to the side, the car makes a slight buzzing noise to alarm you. And the driver can see the speed limit and if they’re inside the lane with a special dashboard screen. Plus you can see cars as they pass you by in the side-view mirror to avoid that dreaded blind spot. But wait…there’s more. There’s a backup camera, hands free Bluetooth setup and driver controls on the steering wheel to avoid any unwanted distractions.
Although the speedometer read extra fast the drive was still super smooth. We arrived just in time to get dressed but not at the facility. We had to improvise because the wedding was outdoors at a harbor. So we did the next best thing and got dressed in the back seat.
Yaass…the Mazda 6 has a back seat area that’s big enough to change clothes in case of an emergency. And yes, this was truly an emergency.
To my surprise we made it in the nick of time. We got seated 5 minutes before the wedding started.
The wedding was beautiful and the reception was so much fun. I’m so glad we arrived on time with a few minutes to spare.
I’m so glad we had the opportunity to experience the Mazda 6. It was so much more than I expected and I was sad to give it back. One can only hope to have a car that’s smooth, sleek and sexy on the next girl’s trip!
Thank you to Mazda and Drive Shop USA. The road trip to Detroit was amazing to say the least! This beauty loved driving the Mazda 6…it’s a beast!Click here for reuse options!
